Step 1 To Start A Blog: Choose A Platform

I am delighted to see I already have a list of students who want to learn more about blogging. In 1 day there are 11 people who have expressed an interest in blogging, but have no idea where to start. I am sure there are many many more to come.

Today we are discussing the first step you need to take to get your blog up and running.

The first thing you need to do when you want to start a blog is to choose a platform to use. This just means a way for you to get your blog online. There are many different options to choose from for this (as shown in the image above). Some of these options are free to use and some are paid, so what is the difference?

Without going into too much detail about it, the free options are often extremely restricted in what you can or can’t do. The main restriction is around the ways you are able to monetise (or earn) from writing the blog itself. As monetisation is the main thing I want to focus on teaching this means I do recommend a paid account.

The account that I recommend using is called Global Domains International, and the cost of this account is $10 per month (after a 7 day free trial). If you prefer to use a free account just understand that you will not be able to use the majority of the methods I will be teaching.

If you want to have a look at what Global Domains International offers you can visit the site by clicking here.

Why Use Global Domains International?

There are several different reasons including the low cost, the services they provide and mostly how you can monetise the account.

The first method of monetisation I will be teaching you to use is gained by adding a small bit of code to your blog. This means you will get paid for the number of views that your blog gets. Now I know that already sounds a bit technical, but as long as you can copy and paste you can do this and I will be showing you EXACTLY how to do it. For now just understand that you cannot add this to a free blog.

In addition you are going to need visitors to your blog to make money from this method. I will also be showing you EXACTLY how to do this. Again the methods I use are not available for free blog platforms.

If you are not ready to join a paid platform for blogging I completely understand. I suggest you do a little work on some free earning sites first of all to work on funding your blog. That link will take you to my other blog which is all about earning online. My top recommended site to use for free is Timebucks but I provide a whole list of additional sites on that other site.

If you are ready to get started today please click here to find out exactly how to set up your account with Global Domains International.

In my next post I will be focusing on your first steps with WordPress (which is the blogging software I use).

  1. I thank you so much for your kind welcoming email I have been a member of GDI for nearly 10 years under many teams unsuccessfully not making any money at all and so I was pleased to receive your email with a new chance to look at a different chance to discover the opportunity of GDI and what it has to offer under your team

    1. Ah Peter, I am so sorry to hear that you have not made any money with GDI in such a long time….. it will be my priority to help you see the real value of a GDI account through blogging, and show how easy it is to make money this way. Its wonderful to have you on the team. Please do let me know if you need any extra guidance to follow the training so we can get you earning ASAP!

  2. By the way I am doing your $64,000 plan as well. Can you still see I am surfing every day? Do you think I have enough for an IPO upgrade yet? My ITB Wallet. BTC 0.00003002

  3. I joined GDI again with your link. I have struggled in the past with GDI and especially with WordPress even though everyone keeps saying how easy it is to use. I tried to set up my blog today http://simple4u.sperkins.ws/ I was going to try to maybe change the background color to maybe a pastel blue, which is not important right now but I did want to try to set up a better tag line and I seem to be all thumbs. I plan on getting started with copying the blog post for IPC as you instructed in http://presstheword.ws/affiliate-marketing-campaign-1…/. And then use my blog to introduce other traffic tools and affiliate offers.
